Saturday May 10, 2009 Tyler and Jonah played a game of SKATE with their buddies. I arrived at the Red Stone Skate Park in Highlands Ranch, CO, eager to try to photograph skateboarding as its true sport. There was a group of about 13 teens out skating playing a game familiar to most as HORSE a basketball competition, like HORSE you try to have the best shot that nobody else can make so instead of baskets they do tricks to see who can land what. It was very interesting to see all the different obstacles they jump over or the way they ollie and flip their board and land on it. Since I use to skate it was extremely interesting to see what the style of riding is and the more popular tricks, some differ greatly in comparison to when I would ride. Towards the end of fourth game one of the other skaters found a trick nobody could do, a nollie heel flip 180, so after their sixth game they called it quits to practice more and find a trick that they could possibly master to beat their friends.
